Annual Enrollment Period for Medicare October 15th – December 7th
Every year at this time, Medicare has their Annual Enrollment Period. This is when all on Medicare can change their plan as many times as needed to secure their plan for the upcoming year. Most Prescription Drug Plans (Part D) may change their formulary of drugs they offer, premium price and sometimes even the name of the plan. It is important to have your prescriptions checked every year to assure you are on the right plan. If you are on a Medicare Advantage Plan with or without a Prescription Drug Plan, it is very important to make sure your doctor is still within Network ,what additional benefits have been added and that your prescriptions are all covered. Further, if you are on a Medigap Medicare Supplement Plan, the insurance companies will increase their premiums as many as 2 or 3 times per year. All Medigap plans are written the same, same coverage, etc. so make sure you are not paying too much for the plan.
Why is it important to have an agent help you with all of this?
First, having an agent is a No Cost Consultation. Why do all of the research on your own when you have someone doing it for you? Medicare Insurance Brokers of Insurance are very knowledgeable about many of the top plans in your area and know about all of the updated coverages, changes, etc.
